FoodLoop UK app for iPhone and iPad

FoodLoop is a technological solution to our edible food waste problem.

Every year, 6.4 million tonnes of edible food is wasted in the UK. Of that, an estimated 1.6 tonnes is lost before it even reaches the farm gate.
That’s almost 15 billion meals; enough to feed the entire population of the UK three meals a day for 11 weeks!

The Kent-based No Food Wasted Forum and Produced in Kent have come together to help solve this problem with the FoodLoop app.

FoodLoop facilitates the exchange of surplus food fit for human or animal consumption between organisations that have surplus food and organisations that redistribute it or need it to make new product. The app can currently be used by organisations in Kent or Northamptonshire.
